Hard Work and Determination. That’s what it takes to be a champion. You can’t expect to walk into a match and have it handed over to you on a silver platter, let alone walk out of it with a title slung over your shoulder. Things just don’t work that way.
Hard Work and Determination. That’s what makes champions. No one ever became a worthy champion by getting lucky. Sure, luck happens and some people become surprise champions, but wait a few weeks and see if that same person holds gold; you know what to expect.
Hard Work and Determination: That’s what goes in to every championship. On the outside, a title belt looks like a fairly simple concoction of leather and metal, but there’s more to it. What you can’t see is the amount of blood, sweat, tears, and soul that is inside each belt. Some people say that a wrestler leaves a piece of himself in the ring after a hellacious match, well, champions become a part of the belt that they hold, and nothing on earth can ever take that away from them.

We open inside a somewhat familiar looking gym. What was once TC Jagger’s personal gym, complete with flat screen television, surround sound stereo system, and Gatorade vending machine, has been stripped down to nothing but a treadmill and a few other select weight training machines. The AWG Triple Threat title sits atop the desk in the front of the room, taking the place of the Sports Illustrated magazines which normally rest there.
TC Jagger sits on the edge of a long bench. A large dumbbell rests in between his feet as Jagger stares blankly at the floor.
After losing his tables match to Lee Varitek at Authenticity, Jagger flipped out and began to rid himself of any distractions prior to his match at Immortal Conflict. He removed all electronics from his gym, covered the windows, even forced his girlfriend out of the house. With two humiliating losses under his belt heading into his title match, Jagger isn’t taking any chances.
Jagger picks up the dumbbell with his left arm and begins to curl it. He closes his eyes as he begins to further mentally prepare for the match that lies ahead of him.
Jagger: I’m not going to let it happen again…
Jagger switches hands and begins to curl the dumbbell with his right arm.
Jagger: Two matches in a row and I let them both slip through my hands.
Jagger drops the dumbbell and it slowly rolls away from him.
Jagger: If either of these men think that they’re going to pull another fast one on me, they’re sorely mistaken.
Jagger stands up and slowly walks over toward the treadmill.
Jagger: You see, there’s one giant difference between my two previous matches and the one that is set to take place this Sunday night. Those nights, I allowed myself to get distracted. Whether it was a distraction over the timed match, or the pathetic trick played by one of my opponents using music to distract me in the middle of the match, it doesn’t matter this time.
Jagger steps on to the treadmill. He presses a few buttons and the machine kicks into action.
Jagger: I’ve cleared myself from all distractions, I’ve put one-hundred and ten percent of my focus towards retaining my title at Immortal Conflict. Phoenix, Varitek, no amount of trickery will allow you to walk away with my title this Sunday. The Triple Threat title has become part of my heart and soul, and you two just don’t have the heart or determination to take it from me.
Jagger continues to run on the treadmill as the camera fades to black.
