*On the Thursday morning following Authenticity, Jack Gaither is inside the studios of KDFW-TV (Dallas), where he is to be featured in a segment on the morning news program Fox 4 Good Day. The familiar sound of Queen's "One Vision" play as the cameras return from a commercial break; co-anchors Tim Ryan and Megan Henderson are ready to begin.*
TIM RYAN: It's a beautiful Thursday morning all over "Big D," and Queen is playing their good stuff right now. I humbly remember "One Vision," because of its appearance in a film's soundtrack. Megan, do you know what movie "One Vision" was featured in?
MEGAN HENDERSON: Hmmm...I think it was Iron Eagle.
You're right it was! Speaking of "One Vision" and "eagles," we'd like to welcome "The Golden Eagle" himself--superstar of the Authentic Wrestling Gods, Jack Gaither.
Thank you very much; I'm humbled to be back in Dallas after quite a long time.
*Footage of Jack's match last night on Authenticity is shown throughout the entire segment.*
I have to start off by saying that you and your colleagues entertained a packed house at the A.A.C. for a good two hours of wrestling; so how did it feel to get the chance to wrestle in front of 20,000 enthusiastic North Texans last night?
Dallas has always held a special place in my heart because the fans here are very knowledgeable about wrestling, and it has to go back to the days of the Von Erich dynasty. Those guys were like rock stars down here--as well as my idols growing up; I've been to a lot of places where the crowds are dead, but last night was really loud and entertaining.
Jack, my kids Meghan and Patrick are big fans of yours, so they were a bit disappointed when you ended up losing your match last night; however, I remember logging onto AWG.com because I enjoy listening to your entrance theme "One Vision," and after finally downloading it, I saw that you had just been booked for a World Heavyweight Title shot at the next pay-per-view.
Wow! That is so cool!
Thanks Megan, and yes, at Exodus--the name of the next pay-per-view event--I will be going one-on-one with Sage Christensen, who is the current AWG World Heavyweight Champion, in a last man standing match. For those who don't know what that is, it's the match in which the only way to win is to make sure that your opponent doesn't answer a referee's ten-count.
Oh, that's kind of brutal. We only have a few seconds left, but I have to ask you who would you vote for in the 2008 Presidential Election? Barack Obama or John McCain?
Well, I may be a Republican by heart, but I also have a history degree, which means that one must take both sides of the coin and place things in their proper historical context. I'd have to say that, surprisingly, I'd have to vote for Obama because of the many different historical flaws concerning the war in Iraq, and believe me, there were tons of mistakes made on both sides.
Well Jack, it's so nice to see you in the Metroplex, and we hope to see you again someday.
Thanks my friends; it's good to be here.

DALLAS--Last night, the American Airlines Center was packed, but not for a Mavericks or Stars game.
Instead, the Authentic Wrestling Gods came to town and gave 20,000 enthusiastic Dallasites some good old-fashioned rasslin' action that was televised on F/X, but one match was the talk of the night. AWG World Heavyweight Champion Sage Christensen matched up against Pierce Cavanaugh in the finals of a tournament to determine a number-one contender for the AWG's most prestigious prize--with a twist. If Mr. Cavanaugh won the match, he would face Mr. Christensen one-on-one for the title at the next big pay-per-view event, Exodus; however, Sage won the match, leaving many to speculate whether or not he would even be at Exodus.
All of that changed in a post-match interview that was shown on AWG's website. After winning the tournament, Sage Christensen would get to choose whoever faces him at Exodus or simply take the night off. He chose to wrestle a relative unknown in the world of wrestling: an unknown named Jack Gaither.
Gaither, a five-time holder of AWG's Hardcore title, has had a limited run of success since entering the squared circle in September 2007; he's had some big wins and disappointing losses. His life has been to the highest of highs with his public marriage at a wrestling event, to the lowest of lows when his wife Katherine was killed in a car wreck during a wrestling event in Orlando, Florida. He's shown tremendous resolve since that day, and now, he's got the greatest opportunity in his budding career.
The Cinderella Jack Gaither--a Texas native--is matched up against champion Sage Christensen, who has a spotless singles match record at 9-0 and plenty of experience under his belt. The list of names that Mr. Christensen has beaten is a Who's Who of pro wrestlers, and now, he has to defend his title against an upstart with a heart that's as big as the entire Metroplex. Jack Gaither, a.k.a. "The Golden Eagle," may be a gentle soul outside of the ring, but inside the ring, he's all business. Mr. Gaither's signature move is the "Samba Slam," which is named after a Brazilian cultural dance. This move is the primary reason why he's been making waves in the wrestling industry since September 2007. However, Gaither's odds of winning the AWG World Title from Christensen at Exodus are said to be "astronomical" according to Las Vegas and Atlantic City oddsmakers; to be precise, the odds of Jack Gaither winning the match were pegged at 1.5 million : 1, but those kind of odds haven't fazed him at all. Despite being the butt of many late-night talk show monologues and ESPN's Skip Bayless calling Mr. Gaither "a joke with no chance," Jack Gaither's fan base has grown by leaps and bounds--and other casual sports fans are taking notice.
Wrestling fans, as well as casual watchers from all over the country and the world, have caught on to this underdog story; various national cable and satellite outlets have reported record buys for AWG's Exodus pay-per-view, and the event is just over two weeks away. The talk of Dallas-area radio airwaves over the past 48 hours has been about Jack Gaither's improbable rise to prominence; now, "The Golden Eagle" hopes to rekindle his magic from a stellar college football career and win his new organization's biggest prize.
