The screen goes black. Slowly the green letters “AWG” fade in, outlined in gold. The chorus of “Drilled A Wire Through My Cheek” by Blue October , the official song of AWG Authenticity kicks in. The screen cuts to a montage of prior AWG footage featuring Dollar McDougal, TC Jagger, Jack Gaither, Criminal Intent, Anthony Phoenix, Sage Christensen, and others.
We cut live to The River Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The opening gold, green, and red pyro hits as the camera pans around the arena, capturing the fans going wild. We cut to ringside.

Tommy Veot: We’re live from Baton Rouge, Louisiana! Hello folks, I’m Tommy Veot alongside Stormin’ Norman Asner and Jari Pulaski. Welcome back to AWG Authenticty!
Stormin’ Norman: Yes sir, we’ve had a little time off, but we’re reared back and ready to go with the start of the World Title Tournament.
Tommy Veot: 15 men are vying for the shot at the AWG World Title at Exodus. At the end of the tournament, 14 will have fallen short, and only one will remain.
Stormin Norman: Well folks, Alexander Cain is in the ring, and it looks like we a re about to get things underway.

Alexander Cain: The following is a first round match in the World Title Tournament, scheduled for one fall.
(Burn In Hell by Twisted Sister)
-Walter comes out with the lights dim. He struts towards the ring, finally getting there as the music fades out.
Tommy: Walter has got to be the favorite in the first round here.
Norman: Yeah, I like Max's skill, but let's face it Walter is the Triple Threat champion.
Jaromir: He is? Last I checked, Poetic Justice and TC Jagger had the strap.
Tommy: Well, that is a dispute our championship committee is going to have to settle after this tournament.
(My Way by Frank Sinatra)
-"My Way" by Frank Sinatra begins to play as Max Power walks out in a black and white tux with the bow tie untied. Max struts his stuff as he walks down the ramp, taunting the crowd on the way. Max rolls in the ring and continues to taunt the crowd. Max takes off his sport coat and dress shirt as the music fades.
Tommy: This guy has turned his attitude around quite a bit lately.
Norman: And I believe that can be attributed to his new partner Anthony Phoenix and the move he hit him with from the top of the cage.
Tommy: And what a move that was.
-Referee Abe Sanders calls for the bell and the match is underway. Both wrestlers move towards the center of the ring. They lock up and Walter gives Max a shove sending him back a few feet. Walter looks to lock back up and Max reluctantly obliges. Walter again shoves Max back and this time Max lands on his rear end.
Tommy: Walter just throwing Max around, but it appears that he's going to go back for more.
-Max gets back to his feet and holds up his hand to lock up again. Walter leans forward to lock up, but is shocked when Max pulls back and pokes his in the eye.
Jaromir: There's the old Max we know and love.
-Max jumps at the illegal advantage while Abe Sanders instructs him to stop the illegal activity. He hits Walter with a throat thrust and sends Walter again stumbling back. As he turns and stumbles away, Max hits him with a one-handed bulldog. Max rolls him over and make the cover and Abe Sanders makes the cover.

-An early kick out from Walter.
Tommy: Too early in the match to pick up a pin fall there.
-Max pulls Walter up by the hair and punches him in the face. He then grabs him by the arm and Irish whips him into the ropes. Walter comes back and ducks a clothesline from Power. He comes back and drops him with a running DDT.
Tommy: That's what makes Walter so good. He can hit you with that big move at any time.
-Walter gets up and stares at the down Power. Power slowly makes it towards his feet. Walter sneaks up behind him and locks him arms around the waist of Max. He pops his hips and goes for the German suplex. However, Max hooks the leg and prevents the move. He elbows him once in the head to try to release the hold.
Tommy: Max is fighting hard to get out of the move, but Walter is far to resilient.
-Max elbows Walter in the face again, but Walter again prevents the release of the hold. He pops the hips one more time and sends Max flying over head. But Max does a flip in the air and lands on his feet. Walter begins to strut towards the ropes.
Norman: A move of sheer athleticism by Power here and I don't know if he knows what happened.
Tommy: He doesn't and Max has a chance to capitalize.
-Walter is done gloating as he turns around right into the arms of Power. Max hoists him up as Walter struggles to slip the move.
Tommy: This is what happens when you get cocky.
Jaromir: He didn't get cocky, he was taking a breather after hitting a German suplex. How many people have avoided a German suplex like that?
-Max drops Walter with a muscle buster. He falls down and makes the cover. Abe Sanders makes the count.

Alexander Cain: Here's your winner, Max Power!
Tommy: Max surprises Walter with Powered to the Max and makes the big upset.
Norman: This could be the biggest upset of the first round.
Tommy: Yes, but we have many great matches still to come, so don’t go anywhere!

We return to ringside with the AWG commentating crew.
Tommy Veot: Welcome back folks. We just witnessed one hell of a showing by Max Power here in the ring tonight.
Jari Pulaski: That kid’s got the right stuff. Taking out a AWG Champion in the first round is pretty impressive.
Stormin’ Norman: Well we’re not gonna waste any time here, let’s go to Alexander Cain for the introductions right now.

Alexander Cain: This is the second, first round match scheduled for one fall.
“Dream On” by Aerosmith begins to play over the speakers.
Alexander Cain: Introducing first, John Mercer!
Tommy Veot: Well here’s someone who we haven’t seen in a while.
Stormin’ Norman: Well rumors have been flying around about Mercer retiring in order to manage his “apprentice” so to say, Tason Goldberg.
Jari Pulaski: He’d better hang his boots up, this guy’s older than God.
Mercer makes his way down the ramp and climbs into the ring. He bounces off the ropes as he awaits his opponent.
Alexander Cain: And his opponent…
The lights in the arena dim and a lone green spotlight shines down right in front of the entrance way. "Sorry, you're not a winner" by enter Shikari begins to blast over the P.A. as the words "prepare to be enlightened" flash on the screen. The crowd erupts with cheers.
Alexander Cain: Hailing from New York City, weighing 238 pounds, he is the AWG World Heavyweight Champion, Sage Christensen!
A short moment later Sage Christensen steps out from behind the curtain with a black towel draped over his head and the AWG World Title around his waist. He quickly and methodically makes his way to the ring with the spotlight following him the whole time. After climbing through the ropes, he tosses the towel to the outside before climbing a turnbuckle and putting his arms up to a massive pop from the fans.
Tommy Veot: Well folks, I don’t think I’ve seen this popular of a champion since the Green Ninja. What a reaction from the crowd.
Jari Pulaski: I don’t think I’ve seen a bigger joke as champion since Ninja. How hard is it to take the title from someone who was retiring?
Referee Manny Herrera takes Sage’s title and hands it to a member of ringside help. Both men stand in their corners as Herrera calls for the bell.
*Ding Ding*
Sage and Mercer step out fo their corners and begin to circle the ring. They tie up for a moment before breaking with no one getting the advantage.
Tommy Veot: Remember folks, if John Mercer, or anyone else in the tournament is able to defeat Sage on the way to the finals, they will automatically earn a shot at the World Title at Exodus.
Sage and Mercer tie up again, this time Sage tosses Mercer into a headlock.
Stormin’ Norman: Quick control by the champ.
Sage tosses Mercer into the turnbuckle and quickly follows up with a shoulder to the gut. Mercer keels over and Sage stands him back up, delivering another shoulder thrust.
Tommy Veot: Dominance by Sage Christensen so far here tonight.
Sage goes to toss Mercer into the opposite corner, but Mercer reverses, sending Sage crashing hard into the turnbuckle. Mercer walks over and delivers a few backhand chops to Sage.
Stormin’ Norman: Mercer trying to take control.
Mercer begins to throw punches in the corner, connecting with a few. After taking a few blows, Mercer pulls Sage out, but Sage reverses and delivers a short-arm clothesline.
Tommy Veot: Ouch!
Sage climbs the ropes as Mercer lays on the mat still stunned. Sage makes it to the top rops and Mercer begins to stand. Mercer makes it to his feet, turning around just in time to meet a Missile Dropkick from Sage.
Stormin’ Norman: What a high-risk attack!
Sage and Mercer both hit the mat, but Sage pops right back up to his feet. He stands in the corner as he waits for Mercer to stand up.
Tommy Veot: Sage is calling for it…
Mercer staggers to his feet. He turns around and is met with a super kick to the bottom jaw.
Tommy Veot: Infinite Wisdom!!!
Sage covers as Manny Herrera makes the count.
One…
Two…
Three!!
*Ding Ding*
Alexander Cain: Here is your winner, AWG World Heavyweight Champion, Sage Christensen!!!
“Sorry You’re Not A Winner” plays as the crowd goes wild. Sage grabs his title and makes his way up the ramp. He stops to shake the hands of a few fans before raising the World Title at the top of the stage. John Mercer is helped up by Manny Herrera and begins to make his way backstage as we cut back to the commentating crew.

Tommy Veot: Well folks, we’ve seen two great matches so far, with AWG World Champion Sage Christensen moving on, as well as Max Power after defeating Triple Threat champ, Walter Stewart.

Alexander Cain: The following is a first round match, scheduled for one fall…
“Death March” by Black Label Society begins to play.
Alexander Cain: Introducing first, from Boston, Massachusetts, weighing in at 325 pounds, Travis Beckham!
The arena begins to fog up. Blue lights give the fog an eerie look. Travis Beckham steps out onto the stage with a towel draped over his shoulders. He stands on the stage, staring at the ring for a few moments before beginning to walk down the ramp. Beck climbs into the ring and walks to the corner as he awaits his opponent.
Tommy Veot: Beck is coming off a huge win over Adrian Young over in Iraq, if he can carry that momentum over into the tournament, he’ll be in great shape.
Stormin’ Norman: And what about the announcement he made about going after the tag team titles? When are we going to learn about his partner?
Jari Pulaski: Don’t be stupid. You know it’s Jagger, who else would it be? Beckham’s been in the business for such a short time, who else could it be?
Tommy Veot: Well hopefully we’ll learn soon enough.
Alexander Cain: And his opponent…
“taco Control” by Prince hits the speakers.
Alexander Cain: From Los Angles, California, weighing 241 pounds, Preston Romeo!
Pink and purple strobe lights flash for several moments, but Romeo is nowhere to be found
Stormin’ Norman: Where’s Romeo? I was under the impression that he was ready to get back into action here in AWG.
Tommy Veot: I’m not sure, but I’m getting word that Jason Carter-Wales is backstage with information right now.

We cut backstage as Jason Carter-Wales is standing just outside the arena. A white limo pulls away as Carter-Wales looks into the camera with a shocked look on his face.
JCW: Tommy, inside that limo you just saw behind me was Preston Romeo. I was able to get a few words out of him before he took off. All I could gather was that he received a call from his agent moments ago. Romeo told me that someone named Big ‘B” cut him a bigger paycheck than what he was getting to fight here tonight. When I asked him if he would still take part in the tournament, he responded “I’m all done.” He then got into his limo and left. I’m not sure what’s going on, but I don’t think we’ll be seeing Preston Romeo any time soon.
We cut back to ringside where Beckham is looking over the ropes at the table, waiting for a verdict.
Tommy Veot: Well folks, I don’t think this match is going to happen here tonight. Let’s wait for Alexander Cain to announce the final word.
Alexander Cain: Ladies and Gentlemen, due to unseen circumstances, I am forced to announce that Travis Beckham and Preston Romeo will not be fighting tonight.
The crowd boos
Alexander Cain: Therefore, moving on to the next round, Travis Beckham!
The crowd boos even louder. A smirk comes over the face of Beckham as he slowly exit’s the ring. “Death March” plays as he walks up the ramp and heads backstage.
Tommy Veot: Well folks, good news for Travis Beckham, bad news for anyone else who wanted to see this match here tonight. Luckily we’ve still got several matches for ya, so be sure to stay tuned.

We return to the arena where the fans are waving their signs trying to get on camera. We cut to ringside.
Tommy Veot: Well folks, so far we know that Max Power, Sage Christensen, Travis Beckham, and obviously Rob DiPietro will be making second round appearances. Let’s see who’s about to join them.
“Guernica” by Brand New hits the speakers.
Tommy Veot: Here’s a guy who’s been some of the talk around AWG lately.
Stormin Norman: Yes, along with TC Jagger, Lee Varitek has apparently taken the Triple Threat Title hostage, even though Walter A. Stewart is still the champion.
Lights of the arena turn out, leaving only a thin strip from backstage to the ring lighted, and brightly at that. The crowd erupts as the see Lee’s head peek out from behind the curtain. His pin-straight, jet-black hair hangs freely in front of his face. After teasing the crowd for a moment or two he finally emerges with the large Cobain at his side. Reaching the ring, Lee takes the focus as he springboards himself into the ring. He climbs up onto a turnbuckle and sits down, patiently awaiting his opponent.
Tommy Veot: If anyone has the ability to make an upset tonight, I think it’s Poetic Justice.
The lights dim as 'What I've Done' by Linkin Park plays and green & blue lasers shoot across the arena.
Stormin’ Norman: And here comes the former World Champion.
Jari Pulaski: Yeah, Former.
From the back comes "The Rock Star" Adrian Young, being welcomed by jeers from the audience. As he stands at the top of the ramp, he shoots his arm straight up and the lights start to flicker. He makes his way down to the ring and talks smack to the crowd as he passes by. He walks up the steps and steps into the ring with his arms straight out to his side as he parades around the ring. His music cuts off and the lights return as referee Abe Sanders calls for the bell.
*Ding Ding*
Varitek jumps down from the turnbuckle and begins to circle the ring with Adrian. Adrian tries to tie up, but Varitek jumps out of the way.
Stormin’ Norman: Both of these man are amazing athletes. Quick yet powerful, and they are almost exactly the same size. I’m sure we’re in for a treat tonight.
Adrian charges at Varitek, but Varitek just takes him down with a quick arm drag takeover. Adrian pops back up and charges again, only to run into another arm drag by Varitek.
Tommy Veot: Nice take downs by Varitek.
Adrian pops back up but sinks back into the corner to regain himself. Varitek smiles knowing that Adrian wasn’t expecting such offense. After regaining himself, Adrian comes out of the corner and the two men tie up. This time Adrian uses his strength to overpower Varitek and pushes him into the corner. Referee Abe Sanders breaks up the hold. Adrian begins to back away, but quickly attacks with a knee to the gut.
Jari Pulaski: That’s how you do it. Break the hold, then go right back at him.
Adrian grabs Varitek by the head and drags him out into the ring by hitting a running bulldog. Adrian hooks the leg and goes for the quick count. Abe Sanders makes the count.
One…
Kickout!
Adrian Picks Varitek up by the hair and delivers a cradle DDT.
Tommy Veot: Big DDT from The Rockstar!
Adrian quickly begins to climb the ropes. He perches atop the turnbuckle for a quick second before launching himself, landing a leg drop across the chest of Lee Varitek. Adrian goes for the pin and Sanders makes the count.
Stormin’ Norman: This could be it!
One…
Two…
Kickout!
Tommy Veot: So close! Varitek better step it up if he wants to stay in the tournament.
Adrian looks at Sanders like he wanted a faster count. Sanders just holds up 2 fingers. Varitek begins to make it to his feet, but Adrian locks in a german suplex. Adrian lifts and releases Varitek, but Varitek is able to land on his feet.
Stormin’ Norman: What agility!
Adrian turns around and is met with a missile dropkick sending him over the ropes and down to ringside.
Tommy Veot: Varitek seems as if he has gotten a second wind.
Varitek walks to the nearest turnbuckle and begins to climb. Referee Abe Sanders is telling him to get down, but he isn’t listening. Adrian gets to his feet and Varitek launches himself, taking Adrian down with a flying cross-body. Both men tumble toward the arena ramp.
Tommy Veot: I’m not sure who took the majority of the damage there.
Referee Abe Sanders begins the count.
One…
Two…
Three…
Varitek and Adrian both start to stir.
Four…
Five…
Adrian makes it to his feet and quickly slides into the ring, only to quickly exit again.
Stormin’ Norman: Adrian breaks the count.
Adrian catches Varitek before he makes it to his feet and tosses him into the corner of the ring. Varitek hits his back hard and falls to the mat. Adrian walks over and picks Varitek up before sliding him into the ring. Adrian follows and goes for the quick cover. Abe sanders makes the count.
One…
Two…
Kickout!
Adrian is furious. He stands up and prepares for the Wake Up Call.
Tommy Veot: It could be all over in a moment.
Varitek stands up and Adrian lifts him up, setting him up for the spinning vertebreaker. Varitek struggles to get away but Adrian begins to execute the Wake Up Call.
Jari Pulaski: It’s over.
All of a sudden, Varitek is able to pull away. He lands on his feet and when Adrian turns around, Varitek delivers a huge super kick to the jaw. Both men fall to the mat.
Stormin’ Norman: Varitek keeps it alive.
Tommy Veot: But does he have enough to keep it going?
Varitek begins to pull himself up by the ropes while Adrian remains nearly motionless. Varitek begins to climb the ropes.
Stormin’ Norman: I don’t think this is a smart idea on Lee Varitek’s part.
Varitek stands up and launches himself, propelling forth with a 360 Moonsault. Adrian throws his legs up at the last second and Varitek crashes hard.
Tommy Veot: Pandora’s Drop failed!
Adrian staggers to his feet and waits for Varitek. Varitek makes it to one knee when Adrian lifts him up onto his shoulders. Adrian hits the spinning Vertebreaker and falls on top of Varitek.
Tommy Veot: Wake Up Call connects!
Abe Sanders makes the count.
One…
Two…
Three!!!
*Ding Ding*
Tommy Veot: Well, our former world champion is one step closer to becoming a repeat champion.
Stormin’ Norman: Tough luck for Poetic Justice. That was one hard fought battle.
Tommy Veot: Well folks, let’s take a look at what’s going on backstage.

Jack: Ya know Sam, I find it hard to believe that we're in this tournament.
Sam: You can say that again!
Jack: Yeah, but I was thinking about the future. I want to win this thing for those people who've kept me strong-willed and open-minded over the years.*
*Sam looks at the arena's digital clock.*
Sam: It's time.
Jack: Let's go!
*Jack and Samantha work their way out of the locker room and prepare themselves for their upcoming match.*

We return to the arena and instantly “One Vision’ By Queen begins to play. The crowd cheers.
Tommy Veot: Here’s a guy who’s no stranger to AWG. Every show, week in and week out, this guys puts his heart and soul on the line.
The lights go down; as soon as the "God works in mysterious ways..." part of "One Vision" is played, the arena becomes bathed in a sea of gold. When the music reaches the appropriate moment, a blast of pyro goes off; Jack does some Freddie Mercury-style poses before walking towards the ring area.
Stormin’ Norman: I don’t believe that there’s a man with more heart and detrmination that this guy right here.
Jari Pulaski: Too bad heart doesn’t win gold.
Gaither Climbs into the ring and awaits his opponent.
“Prayer Of The Refugee” by Rise Against begins to play.
Tommy Veot: Here comes one half of the Tag Team champions. This guy’s been holding gold ever since the Tag Team titles have been around in AWG.
Stormin’ Norman: That says a lot about this man.
As the music hits, the lights turn out. All that remains are two blue spotlights searching the stage. Finally, they come together in the middle of the stage and focus on Pierce. He has on his wrestling tights and a warm up tee, like the one that you could buy in the shop. Pierce can’t seem stand still. He jumps up and down, throws punches and heel kicks at the empty space that is before him. He begins to jog down to the ring leaving the spotlight behind him. After jogging about half way down the ramp, his pyrotechnics go off, jets along the ramp. This signals the lights to change from nothing to a flashing blue strobe light. He gets to the ring and hops up onto the apron and then does a flip using the top rope into the ring. He’s full of energy and he stands in the ring punching, jumping and kicking. Referee Donnie Duncan signals for the bell.
*Ding Ding*
Instantly, Pierce rushes at Gaither and locks his arms around Gaither’s waist. Pierce lifts Gaither and sends him to the mat, following up with a reverse headlock.
Tommy Veot: Cavanaugh takes Gaither down and instantly goes to work.
Cavanaugh tightens the headlock, throwing a few punches to Gaither’s ribs with his free hand. After a few punches Cavanaugh releases the hold and stands up, only to drop a knee to the midsection of Gaither. Cavanaugh goes for the pin and Duncan makes the count.
One…
Kickout!
Stormin’ Norman: Not even close.
Tommy Veot: That’s where the heart and determination comes into play on Gaither’s part.
Cavanaugh lifts Gaither up. Gaither uses his quickness to drop down and take the legs out from under Cavanaugh. Gaither then mounts Cavanaugh and begins to deliver closed fists to his head.
Stormin’ Norman: What a quick turnaround from Gaither!
After several closed fists, Donnie Duncan breaks them up. Gaither stands and pulls Cavanaugh to his feet. He delivers a vertical suplex and goes for the cover. Duncan makes the count.
One…
Two…
Kickout!
Gaither stands up all fired up, while Cavanaugh still looks stunned. Gaither pulls Cavanaugh to his feet again and drops his with a scoop slam. Gaither bounces off the ropes and goes to drop and elbow, but Cavanaugh moves out of the way at the last second. Cavanaugh rolls to the ropes and begins to pull himself up as Gaither stands up holding his elbow.
Tommy Veot: Well we might be back to square one right now.
Gaither charges at Cavanaugh who still grasps the ropes. Cavanaugh sees it coming and pulls the ropes down, sending Gaither tumbling down to the mat. Cavanaugh pulls himself back up as Donnie Duncan makes the count.
One…
Two…
Three…
Four…
Gaither pulls himself up by the barricade.
Five…
Six…
Cavanaugh takes a few steps back and launches himself over the ropes. Crashing down on Jack Gaither and the barricade.
Jari Pulaski: Whoa! That’s what I like to see.
Both Cavanaugh and Gaither are out on the mat. Donnie Duncan begins the count again.

Cavanaugh begins to move. He begins to pull himself up by the edge of the ring.

Cavanaugh pulls himself into the ring.
Seven…
Gaither begins to stir.
Eight…
Gaither pulls himself up.
Nine…
Gaither slides into the ring just before the ten count.
Tommy Veot: So close, but he made it.
Cavanaugh goes to throw a punch but Gaither blocks it. Gaither returns with a big hand of his own. Cavanaugh delivers a right, then receives another from Gaither. They trade back and forth for several punches before Cavanaugh gains the upper hand. Cavanaugh backs Gaither into the turnbuckle and delivers a stiff uppercut. He grabs Gaither and irish whips him, but Gaither reverses sending Cavanaugh crashing into the turnbuckle chest first. Cavanaugh stumbles back out and Gaither lifts him onto his shoulders.
Stormin’ Norman: Gaither sets up for the Samba Slam!
Cavanaugh begins to try to get free. He wiggles out of the hold and wraps his legs around Gaither’s head.
Tommy Veot: Cavanaugh reverses!
Cavanaugh uses his legs and pulls Gaither down to the mat. Cavanaugh then locks in the triangle choke.
Stormin’ Norman: Invalidation!
Gaither struggles to get free, but Cavanaugh has the hold locked in tight. Gaither’s movements become slower.
Tommy Veot: Gaither refuses to tap but he can’t get free!
Donnie Duncan comes over to check on Gaither. He raises his hand and it falls to the mat. Duncan has seen enough and he calls for the bell.
*Ding Ding*
Jari Pulaski: Cavanaugh made Gaither pass out!
Stormin’ Norman: But Gaither didn’t tap. That takes a lot of streenght.
Jari Pulaski: Still didn’t get him the win.
Alexander Cain: Here is your winner, “The Adrenaline Rush” Pierce Cavanaugh!!!
Pierce releases the hold and falls back to the mat with his hands raised.
Tommy Veot: What a showing by these two young superstars. We’ve got more action coming your way, don’t go anywhere!
